Damages
[edit]The infobox shows $2m in damages, but the Daisy section says $10m (but doesn't include the year). — jdorje (talk) 03:13, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
- That Daisy figure included damage from a nor'easter that came through at about that same time. That damage figure does sound a little low though. -- §HurricaneERIC§Damagesarchive 23:25, 8 February 2006 (UTC)
Cuban missle crisis
[edit]Storm05 keeps on adding it in that Hurricane Ella occurred when the Cuban missle crisis was occurring, but I removed it, seeing as it's completely trivial and unnecessary. We don't mention any other historical events that occurred while the storm was happening (unless the storm actually affected the event). Hurricanehink (talk) 19:01, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
- Absolutely non-notable. There's plenty on ongoing events, you're not going to find a sentence in a November 2004 storm that the U.S. election was ongoing. – Chacor 14:23, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to add this back in, because the Hurricane played a major role in the Crisis. It greatly complicated naval operations, and was a major contributing factor to the B-59 Incident, in which nuclear weapons were almost used. Dreadnought1906 (talk) 13:28, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Tiny question
[edit]Why doesn't the "September Caribbean tropical depression" have an infobox? HurricaneFan25 15:05, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- Because there's no track map or other image, and it would make the section much longer than needed. --♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 15:07, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

- "becoming the easternmost storm on record to recurve to the northeast." - This is debatable, because only HURDAT can prove this.
- "absorbed by a trough to the south south of Newfoundland on September 2." - Double word
- "Late on August 28, is is estimated that the depression" - Another repetitive word, but I am guess that the first "is" should be "it"; also, I think the second "is" should be "was".
- "Turks and Caicos islands" -> "Turks and Caicos Islands"
- In the "Storm names" section, I would mention that none of the names were used for the first time, since it was a rarity back then to not use a new name. I would also note that no names were retired after the season.
- On reference #12, switch "Roth, David M." to "David M. Roth"
- All of the above issues were fix and/or addressed. Therefore, I am now going to pass this article.--12george1 (talk) 22:58, 17 October 2011 (UTC)

Replacements
[edit]I know none of the following were retired, but it seems in 1966: Dorothy replaced Daisy, Faith replaced Flossie, and Wilma replaced Wilna. Did they ever indicate as to why these were replaced?OWGNicholas (talk) 17:22, 1 December 2024 (UTC)
