1900–1901 Cisleithanian legislative election1900–1901 legislative election in the Empire of Austria (1867–1918) – Per parent Category:Empire of Austria (1867–1918) and per WP:CommonName. Laurel Lodged (talk) 14:28, 22 February 2022 (UTC) — Relisting. ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 21:21, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But Empire of Austria (1867–1918) is the parent (and main) category of Cisleithania.Laurel Lodged (talk) 15:38, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It would appear the category is misnamed; usual practice is for the category name to match the main article. Number 57 16:18, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There was a debate at WP:CFD regarding Empire of Austria (1867–1918) vs Cisleithania as the category name; Empire of Austria (1867–1918) won. These renames are to preserve categorical and article consistency. Laurel Lodged (talk) 16:25, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, well the article itself is still clearly more relevant in terms of naming alignment than the category, plus the title is out of sync with the naming guideline for election articles. If Cisleithania were to be renamed Empire of Austria (1867–1918), then the correct format for the election article would be "1900–1901 Austrian legislative election" rather than the proposed one. Number 57 16:46, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Or perhaps "1900–1901 Austrian Empire legislative election". Laurel Lodged (talk) 17:01, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That is a correctly formulated title at least. However, I would suggestion you request the Cisleithania article be moved before these titles follow. Number 57 20:20, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

 – Argument made by Srnec is moved here to avoid fracturing of discussion. ---CX Zoom(he/him) (let's talk|contribs) 21:13, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Using "Empire of Austria" in this way is confusing and putting two dates in the title is worse. We could do "1891 Austrian legislative election", however. (My opinion is the same on all these RMs that should have been done as a multi-move.) Srnec (talk) 16:24, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
