Chris Phillips

Was Chris Phillips, ice hockey player for the Ottawa Senators, really at Malvern? This sounds incredibly implausible to me, as he was captain of Alberta by the age of 17.^[1]

Looking at the page history, someone first added an unidentified Chris Phillips, and then someone else added "hockey player" to it. I strongly suspect it was originally a vanity link, which someone else misinterpreted. But I thought I'd give other people a chance to speak up before removing it.

Pederasty/CS Lewis

The inclusion of the quotation from CS Lewis about pederasty adds a note of serious imbalance to this article. It gives a disproportionate emphasis in an article that's fairly short and does not elsewhere go into detail about the ethos of the school.

I assume that the sexual culture of Malvern College wasn't much different to many other schools of the same character - and if I'm right then the remark should be qualified accordingly. If this isn't a solution, the remark should be removed to restore the article to some kind of balance - or a great deal more material should be added to give a more balanced picture. As it stands, it seems like an embittered remark by a former pupil assumes a disproportionate significance. Pgg7 09:30, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Website warning and removal

Hi. I've removed the website as, when I tried to access it, my computer stopped me because of browser exploit. I thought it was best, seeing as it isn't Wikipedia's role to direct people to get a virus. See [2] St91 (talk) 17:55, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

Ok. The thing with this is this - when you go onto the link for the college that Wikipedia shows, you go to Malvern College's home page. On either side are two pictures - one takes you to the Prep school page, the other to the Senior school page. Now, which ever of these you pick, McAfee block the page citing, as I said, browser exploit. My personal opinion (which could well be completely wrong) is that M. College have used GoogleRank.info to promote their site on the Internet in search results, without knowing of their error. Now, as I say, that could be spot on right, or a load of old cobblers, but now can you see what I mean? St91 (talk) 23:22, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

J. I. M. Stewart
