Stelato is a Chinese manufacturer of electric cars, based in Shenzhen, owned by BAIC BluePark in colaboration with Huawei under the HIMA brand and operating since 2024.

History

[edit]

In December 2023, Huawei through its automotive branch Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance registered another, third car brand, which, like the previous AITO and Luxeed, was based on an alliance with one of the Chinese automotive concerns. Stelato was the result of cooperation with BAIC Group, which through its branch BAIC BluePark committed to produce a jointly developed model at the factory in Beijing[1].

Stelato's market debut took place in March 2024, when its flagship product was presented - the luxurious, fully electric limousine Stelato S9[2]. Although the car used Huawei software combined with BAIC technical solutions, in terms of visuals the S9 was only a twin, extended version of the Luxeed S7 produced since 2023 with another concern, Chery[3]. The world premiere of the new brand's luxury hybrid limousine took place in April 2024 during the international auto show in Beijing[4].
