Scott Woodward is an American marketing and branding executive.[1][2] He was a former creative executive for Ray-Ban,[3] Calvin Klein, Movado Group,[4] and Arnell Group.(19) He is the founder of SEW Branded, a New York-based brand marketing consultancy.[5][6][7]

Education

Woodward received a BA degree with a double concentration in marketing and management from Saint Leo University in 1986. He completed an MBA degree from Loyola University New Orleans a year later while also completing graduate coursework at Villanova University.[5]

Career

Woodward joined Chevron in 1987 as a marketing assistant. He later became the director of global image marketing at Ray-Ban, moving its office to New York City.  During that period, Woodward launched its first retail flagship store in Atlanta as a part of their 1996 Olympic sponsorship.[2] and oversaw the first combination movie trailer-brand commercial with Sony for the 1997 movie Men-in-Black featuring Ray-Ban with Will Smith.[5][1][8] Woodward was recruited by Calvin Klein as vice president of global marketing and public relations in 1997 and became global chief marketing officer at Movado Group in 1998, overseeing brand imaging for their luxury watch portfolio that included Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Concord, ESQ and Movado.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] A former client, he later worked for Arnell Group during its Omnicom acquisition.[18][19]

In July 2002, he launched the Scotte Woodward tee-shirt line, which sold at Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, Fred Segal, and Kitson. He also appeared on Life & Style with Kimora Lee Simmons.[20][21][18][16] Woodward founded SEW Branded in 2006.[22] It was the first to create a Kindness Campaign for Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation after its launch at Harvard University with Oprah.[5] One Direction was featured a year later in a follow-up anti-bullying campaign.[7] He worked as a creative director with client Warren-Tricomi.[22][23][24] In 2021, Woodward joined The New School, Parsons School of Design as an Adjunct Professor.[5] Woodward paid tribute to actress Farrah Fawcett in an essay in People magazine in 2024.[25][8]

Philanthropy & Awards

Woodward won the Emery Award in 2013 for raising more than $2M for anti-bullying educational programs.[6] In 2014, SEW Branded won the Clio, Summit International, and Internet Advertising Awards for its brand collaboration with One Direction.[5][7]
