- February 3, 1996 – JT Storage merged with Atari.
- February 19, 2002 – Sierra On-Line renamed itself Sierra Entertainment as part of an effort to expand its product line.
- February 27, 1996 – Nintendo and Game Freak released Pokémon Red and Green for the Game Boy in Japan.
- February 28, 2002 – Monolith Soft released Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht for the PlayStation 2.

- 2000-03-04: The Sony PlayStation 2 is released in Japan and becomes the fastest-selling video game console, selling 98,000 units in 4 hours (an average of 7 units sold per second).
- 1982-03-10: Midway Manufacturing wins Midway Manufacturing Co. v. Artic International, Inc.
- 1973-03-19: Konami Industry Co., Ltd is incorporated as an arcade manufacturer.
- 1971-03-22: Ralph Baer filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a patent for a "television gaming and training apparatus".
