[edit]- 1883 – Northern Pacific Railway completes its connection to the Pacific coast in Washington with a final spike ceremony at Gold Creek, Montana.
20th century
[edit]- 1906 – Ottawa's Bank Street subway is opened as streetcar number 253 of the Ottawa Electric Railway traverses the tunnel.
- 1925 – Hull Electric Railway discontinues through service to Queen's Park in Toronto, passengers must now transfer to trains running from Aylmer.
- 1944 – Nickel Plate 765 is built by Lima Locomotive Works.[1]
- 1979 – Restored Nickel Plate 765 is officially introduced by the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society for its 35th birthday.[1]
21st century
[edit]- 2004 – Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway opens the second railroad "flyover" bypass in Kansas City, Missouri.
