[edit]- 1880 – The California Southern Railroad is organized to build a rail connection between San Diego and a connection with the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad in California.[1]
- 1893 – The Toronto and Mimico Creek Railway, purchased by William Mackenzie on July 1, is extended to Mimico Creek.
20th century
[edit]- 1911 – Six construction workers die in an accident while working on the Western Maryland Railway's Salisbury Viaduct.
- 1918 – The Denver and Interurban Railroad, in Colorado ceases all operations; passenger service is replaced with buses.
- 1928 – Shin-Koiwa Station in Katsushika, Tokyo, Japan, opens.
