Q 40.01
Connect a princess, a gift and Mercury. Goutham787 (talk) 21:54, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Kodaikanal, the "Gift of the forest, the land famed for a "princess" of Kurinji and where there was a "mercury" production plant by Unilever that had caused widespread pollution and threat to public health ? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 23:04, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Oh yes. Time to post a good one vishwa! Goutham787 (talk) 02:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Q 40.02
Connect the axis of faith with the might of sword with a coloured line X and mention what is so special about X. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 05:45, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I missed out on a lot of the happenings in the Quiz the last few days. :) Is it the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque in Delhi? Aibak was the 'axis of faith' but I am at a loss about the X. Nitin (talk) 09:06, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
You have got onto the right person, but not the landmark. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 09:22, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Something related to anarkali bazaar in Lahore? Goutham787 (talk) 10:09, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Noops! It involves one landmark, one locality, two personalities and X. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 10:18, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Is the coloured line a reference to Blueline buses ? Is the landmark the Iron Pillar in the Qutb complex of Mehrauli and hence the locality Delhi ? So then if one personality was Qutubuddin Aibak then was Chandragupta Vikramaditya ("He, on whose arm fame was inscribed by the sword", hence the 'might of sword' as per the Iron pillar inscription) the other personality ? However if it is not the right answer then please give us a hint regarding the coloured line X. Nitin (talk) 06:22, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
You are so close yet so far...! The mighty of the sword is a true translation (from an Indian language) of a famous name. The coloured line is part of a prestigious project and an Indian superlative of its class. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 08:16, 22 September 2011 (UTC)05:16, 25 September 2011 (UTC)Chakravarthy87 (talk)
I got it! It is the Yellow line of the Delhi Metro which goes through the Qutb Minar station. Nitin (talk) 11:35, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
But can you please complete the answer by mentioning he remaining points in question? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 16:36, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Qutubuddin 'Aibak' was the 'axis of faith' who built Qutb Minar. The coloured line X is the Delhi Metro Yellow Line which connects Airport Express Line at New Delhi station , Qutub Minar station and other stations in Delhi with HUDA city centre in Gurgaon in Haryana hence providing a faster link between Delhi and Gurgaon. But I couldn't identify the famous Indian personality 'might of sword'. Zubin ('mighty sword' in Parsi), surnames Talwar and Khanna and Saif ('sword' in Arabic) were the closest i got. Could Elattuvalapil mean the same ? Sorry but I am stumped here! Nitin (talk) 16:39, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
I think it is fine to have attempted so far. Let us move on :) "Tegh Bahadur" in Punjabi means "mighty of the sword". The yellow line connects between Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar (GTB Nagar) and Qutb Minar. This section of Delhi metro is the longest underground railway in India until now. (Please see its mention in List of longest tunnels in the world.
Nitin, the only one, please take us over to the next question! :) ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 21:15, 24 September 2011 (UTC) Oh! that was close I had passed by the GTB and Tegh links as well. Anyhow the question was not an easy one to answer :) Nitin (talk) 03:17, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Q 40.03
Associated with the Sialkot region, he journeyed westward during his successful military career, was a mystic, great horseman and swordsman, had nearly died once (outside the battlefield) and had married thrice. He didn't like to get wet in rains while on horseback. Who was this? Nitin (talk) 03:58, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Is this Menander I--Chax Chakravarthy87 (talk) 05:14, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- is that shahjahan, married thrice, had Sialkot under his kingdom, which was controlled by Ali Mardan Khan. when he was in the Military of his father,as a military commander he helped his fathers kingdom to expand on the western areas such as Deccan, Kangra and Mewar. But iam not sure about his get wet issues?????.--218.186.17.233 (talk) 06:57, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
No this person isn't Menander or Shah Jahan. Nitin (talk) 10:51, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Guru Gobind Singh? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 13:01, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
No. The last attribute is the clue; it was part of legend, although not a very heard of one, that he never rode wet through rains on horseback. Anybody else wouldn't have minded horseriding through rains and hence getting drenched. Nitin (talk) 16:52, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
Bingo! Yes, you are right! This was about Indian mythology and not about history :) Madra, Nakula's mother's kingdom, was in the region of present-day Sialkot. Nakula and Sahadeva were sons of the Ashvini brothers (Hamal in the night sky) He was an expert horse-trainer and breeder as well as a great astrologer. After Yudhisthira ('Steady-at-war') became king he sent his four brothers on military campaigns in each cardinal direction, Bhima went east, Arjuna went north, Nakula went west and Sahadeva went south after he performed the Rajasuya sacrifice. Due to their successes Yudhisthra became emperor of 'Great India' (Mahabharatha). Nitin (talk) 17:47, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.05
Have been sucked up in work for last 5-6 months Amondal, and so reluctantly was on a sort of hiatus. Not that I like it too much, but what to do. Anyways, here is a quickly formulated question
-
A was known for his mastery over "proportions". His first achievement of note B impressed Nehru so much that he commissioned A to start work on a similar piece of work to commemorate one of the most significant achievemenets in early independent India. However, that work was never realized due to paucity of funds!
A is most well known for his work C, which is instantly recognizable worldwide, and copies of the same have been put on display in countries as separate as Russia, England, Italy, and Argentina. The largest copy of this work C is at display in India itself.
Identify A,B and C. Clues to follow, if this is too cryptic. -Admishra (talk) 09:32, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
- This is very cryptic, but by pure luck i got to this; hope this is the correct answer! A: Ram V. Sutar, B: Mother Chambal Symbolic monument at the GandhiSagar Dam, C: Mahatma Gandhi statue at Pragati Maidan ?? Prasad (talk) 11:01, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.07
She is the hope of abandoned and fallen. Even her name comes from dust. And in her name is a body of water seen as beautiful as she would have been. Who is she? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 04:28, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
Is it Teesta Setalvad (Teesta meaning stream hence a body of water)? Give us a hint please! :) Nitin (talk) 06:44, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
No. She is dominantly associated with a cult or community whose history has significant connections with the cultural heritage of India, esp. South India for hundreds of years. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 17:01, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

Renuka ('of dust/fine grain of sand'), another name for Goddess Yellamma or Matangi, worshipped by certain people in Karnataka and Kerala. There is a Renuka Lake in Himachal PradeshNitin (talk) 02:24, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Nitin, You are right at the spot! The Renuka/Yellamma is the deity at helm for the now slowly retreating Devadasi system that was spread all over India, particularly in South India. Art forms like Sadir and Bharata Natyam were strongly connected to this community.
Nitin, please go ahead with another thrilling question! ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 05:11, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Q 40.08
Thanks Viswa :)
Connect an 'entrance' X, with an hybrid form of a staple fiber Y and a confectioner Z. Nitin (talk) 07:37, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
Hint : also connect a famous teacher of very wellknown students (A), a distinguished personality associated with his mother's name (B) and an actor and spouse of a legend (C).
Please name all the above to complete the answer. Nitin (talk) 03:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Hints : A is associated with a Bharat Ratna student, B whose penname means 'Mother's son' is a recipient of an Indian literary award, X, the main answer, has a name which means 'Door place'. I think it is easy now. Nitin (talk) 12:46, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
X= Dharwad and
Y= the Dharwad Cotton Hybrid (DCH)(needs a Wikipage)
A= Sawai Gandharva, who was the great teacher of Bharat Ratna recipient Bhimsen Joshi.
B= Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre.
C= Leena Chandavarkar, Wife of legendary Kishore Kumar.
A,B & C were famous personalities who either belonged to or affected by the blessed city of Dharwad, a centre of excellence in education, art, culture and agriculture.
Dharwad is famous for the agriculture of Y, the Dharwad Cotton Hybrid (DCH) and Sugarcane. Z, The Dharwad Pedha has a Wiki page of it's own. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 13:20, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.09
Thanks Nitin. I hope, this time it is an easier question.
Name a small village, equidistant from two of our seasoned metro cities, that has become a notable town after being home to one of the world's largest manufacturing units of an important industry. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 20:10, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Bhilai? Goutham787 (talk) 04:59, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- I suppose not! That's not the answer I looked for. Anyway, can you justify the 'equidistance'?(Haven't checked Bhilai's distances to metros myself)
Clue: The village/town takes its name from an anecdote in one of India's great epics. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 05:06, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Nagda,in Madhya Pradesh is one of the largest viscose staple fiber manufacturers in Asia. Prasad (talk) 05:40, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Prasad, You are right. On the railway line from Mumbai to Delhi, Nagda lay at the midpoint.
- Nagda's page is example of a poorly written (or abandoned) Wikipedia article. It could do better with some cosmetic makeup.ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 06:03, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.11
In the whole world, it is the oldest and still running business house among its own industry. In good times, as early as the concluding years of 19th century, it had acquired the status of a typical multinational corporation with overseas branches and various successful marketing strategies that the modern companies adapt these days.
Name the venture and the city where it exists. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 09:24, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it the "Anandji Kalyanji Pedhi" (Pedhi means company in local language) of Gujarat this company was supposedly fecundated in 1720? Nitin (talk) 12:26, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is EID Parry's, Chennai? Prasad (talk) 12:28, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- Neither of the above. The industry they deal with was at its infantile stage when they started. It has however continuously evolved till even today to the extent that it can be very challenging and risky to play in such a business! Certainly, confined to its own traditional patronage, our hero may not be acting big these days as a countable market force. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 12:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
SBI founded as Bank of Calcutta in 1806? Nitin (talk) 12:58, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

- Is it is "The East India Company"? Prasad (talk) 14:27, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Ha ha ha! that looks desperate! :))
- Two more clues
- Several internationally reputed institutions in UK and USA have preserved specimens of some of their earliest productions.
- Originally there were four of them. Two each had launched separate shops in two separate towns (one famous for its Mughal history) and the other for British Raj history). In a few years, one of them left the partnership and the other one joined the second partnership. It was these three who eventually moved to a major city where it entrenched its deep roots over the next one and a half century or so. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 15:04, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
In the nineteenth century the Singhania family were famed in Kanpur while Mr. Wadia was similarly setting up a woollen mill in Thane. The Sassoon family of Bombay came to acquire this mill and rename it as Raymond. Later Raymond came under the Singhanias. Is this the answer ? Nitin (talk) 18:24, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Morarjee Goculdas Spinning & Weaving Co. Ltd. is the oldest textile company in India, established as early as 1871 and still existent in Mumbai now owned by Piramal Nitin (talk) 19:49, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
I think it is the Goenka family who were originally from Dundlod a Rajput-Mughal town who set up shop in Kolkata (father-son Ramdutt-Ramkissendas).[1] By the 1900s they were established in their trade in diverse sectors like Banking, jute, textiles, tea, etc. Later they were joined by Chokhany. They eventually moved to Mumbai. Now the company is known as RPG Group. [2]Nitin (talk) 20:48, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
More Clues: The first two towns mentioned are well matured by now. Once a 'boundary of the jungles', the first one is a city with a population of more than 1.5 million today. The second one 'rules over the hills', so they say. It was almost the same time when the lone partner joined the team that the Raj chose her as an important vantage point from where to look after their Indian affairs. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 21:08, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
- First of all let me wish you a Happy Dassera / Vijaya Dashami! Tough & Cryptic question. I could decipher upto Agra & Shimla. The business could be either parchin kari or Carpet weaving, but could not get the firm's names. Prasad (talk) 03:02, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Wishing Prasad, Viswa and all of you a happy Vijayadashami! Yes I had got the Queen of hills part and the Agraban part but Prasad beat me at entering it in first :) The firm seems to be Bourne & Shepherd first set up at Agra and then in Shimla. It had branches in London, Paris and other cities during the 19th century. As always Viswa's questions involve some out-of-the-box thinking as well!! Nitin (talk) 06:54, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Initially there was ‘Shepherd & Robertson’ shop in Agra and Howard's and Bourne' s shop in Shimla. Shepherd left his partnership to go to Shimla and join their firm then called ‘Howard, Bourne & Shepherd’, in 1863 in Shimla. They later moved to Kolkata and is the is the oldest photographic studio still in operation. Some of their earlier work is preserved at Cambridge University Library, the National Portrait Gallery, London, the National Geographic Society's Image Collection and the Smithsonian Institution. Nitin (talk) 07:02, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
Hi all, heartiest greetings of the season to all my brothers and sisters here! While we participate here so actively, in a way, we are fulfilling the very true intentions of such celebrations, that is to spread the light of knowledge as far away as you can reach. :)
As I saw your attempts were not reaching anywhere near the answer, I was a little worried that my question may have been too weird or vague. However, Prasad and Nitin has worked so hard to get it right! Please tell me if my questions are worthy or not. I shall repair myself. :)
Thanks to Prasad and baton to Nitin ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 09:01, 6 October 2011 (UTC)

Regarding the questions, Viswa, it is good that you are making them hard to answer, but not many participants turn up, in general for anyone's questions, so they remain unanswered for quite some time. Nitin (talk) 02:56, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

- Bhimtal-Bhowali formation, Bhimtal lake has an island in it? Prasad (talk) 16:28, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
No. Hint: Both (the granite place and the island) are miles apart and in different ends of India. Nitin (talk) 08:37, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- Needed small explanation; you want the "type of formation" or location of granite formation? Prasad (talk) 09:14, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- Sentinel? Prasad (talk) 10:56, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
It is both a place and a granite rock ('location of granite formation' precisely), a rock that was formed several millions of years ago (hence a rock formation) mainly sculpted by wind and gets it's name from the place (hence a 'type'). Not a type in the strict sense but called just as the Bhimtal–Bhowali formation is. Bhimtal–Bhowali consists of two place names unlike the actual answer.:) The island has a peculiarity as well which makes it special. Nitin (talk) 16:34, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

The floating island is a big clue, thanks. I think it is Sendra granite(Pali district, Rajasthan) and the Sendra island in Loktak lake, Manipur. Prasad (talk) 02:02, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Yes, the Loktak islands are the only floating ones in India. You are right! Over to you now. Nitin (talk) 07:02, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Q 40.15
Thank you Nitin, for a change we will go to Mythology: X is the offspring of a king Y whose name is synonymous with one of the beautiful apsara's name and a human-animal woman Z. Identify X, Y and Z. Prasad (talk) 07:48, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
X = Mahishasura
Y = Rambha Asura, the demon king
Z = Mahishi, Goddess Gauri's incarnation in the form of a female water buffalo. Variations of the legend also call her Princess Shyamala.
- Righto! Vishwa, your turn now. Prasad (talk) 10:57, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.16
India has always been a new friendly home for people who had to escape the wrath of overpowering systems of beliefs and governance.
One such community had built up a small bamboo structure as their first home and centre of worship. As the time passed by, it grew up to become one the largest educational centre of their doctrines in the world. Their lonely village is an important tourist attraction these days.
Name the community and the place.
- Welcome back Vishwa, i think it is Tibetan Refugees at Bylakuppe, Karnataka? Prasad (talk) 02:11, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- You are right. It is the Bylakuppe village in South Karnataka that is home to Namdroling (locally known as "Golden Temple"), and other Tibetan monasteries and refugee settlements. Namdroling (also known as Thekchog Namdrol Shedrub Dargye Ling) is the largest teaching center of Nyingmapan lineage of tibetan buddhism in the world. Q 40.18
Thanks Prasad.
This is a convoluted connect.
This Person X indirectly connects with A.Raja through Y where he worked earlier in one of Y's earlier regional office. The Same Person X indirectly connects with Britney Spears through Z by his current profession.
The First connect and Second Connect is independent of each other, the only common factor being X.

X and Z are Legends of Indian Cinema and Y is a Top Ranking Government Official. When I say "Connects With" it is not necessarily being directly related with. -Chax Chakravarthy87 (talk) 09:33, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is Shahrukh Khan, Karim Moriani, P Chidambaram? Prasad (talk) 10:01, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
No!All 3 answers are not what I am looking for.P Chidambaram unfortunately is not a legend in Indian Cinema :)Chakravarthy87 (talk) 10:07, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Is Y Vinod Rai ? Also is Z Katrina Kaif who is the most google-searched celebrity while Britney is the second-most ? Nitin (talk) 13:23, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
Y is right. Now it becomes easier, Think of a personality(X) who worked in the Accountant General's office but later established himself in Cinema.(Now it is a giveaway guys)Chakravarthy87 (talk) 16:12, 16 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.20
Mr. A and his wife B received two awards in successive years each in their own capacities for accomplishments in completely different fields. However, A was forced to return his award due to a later report that a qualified professional C was involved in the creation of the entity D to which the award was specifically attributed. A's award is connected through E to a dominant sect of an Indo-Iranian religion F. B's internationally reputed award is named with a great guerrilla fighter G.
Name A to G
Too many Dots? Well. That makes the connections rather easier. :) ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 22:11, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
Is A Bunker Roy and B Aruna Roy? :Nitin (talk) 03:07, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
A got the Aga Khan Foundation Award in 2001 and had to return it because architect (C), Neehar Raina, had designed the Barefoot College (D) which was claimed to be done by illiterates.
E is Aga Khan, Imam of the Nizari Ismaili Shia sect of Muslims(F). Aruna Roy (B) received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2000, the award being named after the former Philippine President who had previously been a guerrilla fighter against the Japanese during WWII (G). :Nitin (talk) 03:20, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.21
One more connect the dots:
- A is a joint venture between companies B and C that are cities apart. D is a product of A and is associated with a dessert. E is an African team. F is A's competitor located in city G and has the paradoxical name of a fictional character. F had launched a series of 3 products (H, I and J) which compete with D. Name them. (A, D, E and F have the most weightage and will decide the point winner in the event of a tie) :Nitin (talk) 18:05, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- Isn't E stranded? --Jairodz (talk) 18:23, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it a desert or dessert? ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 18:48, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- E is connected to A and it is dessert, a sweet food.:Nitin (talk) 19:50, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- If it was cryptic let me give you some more clues: 'Human' and currently relevant, D, H, I and J have alphanumeric names. H is associated with the name of a pastry, while I and J, like D, is linked to a trademark dessert name. E is a South African sports team. F leads the market among domestic companies in this particular consumer market sector. :Nitin (talk) 02:39, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Easy clues:
- D, H, I and J are products of a type whose name means 'human-like' or 'with human features'.
- Think of modern technology and of devices.
- E is a cricket team which had come to India. :Nitin (talk) 10:26, 22 October 2011 (UTC)
- I think these are Android (Human like) smart phones. A could be Karbonn Mobiles, It is a joint venture Mobile manufacturing company between the Bangalore based United Telelinks Limited (B) and Noida based Jaina Marketing & Associates (C). D could be their product, A1. E is Cape Cobras, partcipated in Champions League Twenty20 . F could be Micromax located in Bangalore (G). Their products (H, I and J) could be A60, A70 & A85. Prasad (talk) 03:08, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yes you have connected the dots in the right way. Cape Cobras was sponsored by Karbonn Mobiles for a while and Micromax is located in Gurgaon not Bangalore. The Android devices are all correct. You get the point and the baton. :Nitin (talk) 05:27, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Q 40.22
Thank you Nitin, it was a typo! i wanted to write Gurgaon only but ended up with Bangalore :)) OK, another connect..
Connect Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna & the famous Telugu Movie Shankarabharanam ! Prasad (talk) 06:44, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.23
His name sounds very similar to a Nobel laureate. He is one of the few who have demonstrated exceptional talent in a peculiar art that involves artistic body movements. In this particular art, he is rated among the world's best performers. Name him and the art. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 14:43, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is Ashish Kumar, in Men's Floor Gymnastic events? or Shiva Keshavan in Luge? Prasad (talk) 16:27, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Clue: The "body movement" mentioned above constraints to just an area of the body which, in any case, is the most moveable and maneuverable in any physically normal human being. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 16:53, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

- Ram Babu from A.P. who paints with his nose ? :Nitin (talk) 17:23, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
Clue: The proper name of this art has a connection to the word:"Umbrella" through their common root. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 17:39, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is G_Harishankar, the famous Kanjira player? Prasad (talk) 01:28, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it Ramanchakyar of the Koodiyattam dance form ? :Nitin (talk) 02:59, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
- In case that is wrong then does it have anything to do with Paṭa Kuṇita or Aṭi Kaļanja dance forms ? :Nitin (talk) 03:39, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Remember, his name sounds very very similar to a Nobel laureate!
Clue: This art is performed not just in India but in many parts of the world. In fact, it had its golden period during 19th century. The "dawn" of new technologies and comforts and newer types of visual arts pushed this gentle craft slowly to the back of arena. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 06:30, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is it is Amar Sen, artist of Shadowgraphy? Prasad (talk) 08:55, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Yes Prasad!
Amar Sen (http://www.handshadowgraphy.com/amazing_duo.html) is a leading performer of ombromanie which is more popularly known as 'Hand Shadowgraphy'. Ombro / umbra corresponds to shadow which is also root to the word Umbrella. Congrats, Let's move on, Prasad! ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 09:24, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

Q 40.25
Connect the dinosaurs with a deity, a plant, a river, a mountain, a stone, and the sea. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 07:56, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Is this something to do with Shiva crater in the Indian Ocean, raising the Deccan Traps, Baptistina Asteroid collision etc..which led to Dinosaur's extinction?? Prasad (talk) 10:50, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Is this the dinosaurs of the Narmada valley? :Nitin (talk) 12:01, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Dinosaurs like the Rajasaurus and many others
- Deity = Shiva whose daughter is the Narmada (also called Shankari) the stone pebbles gathered to form his emblem as per legend (wikipedia source)
lingam shaped stones (cryptocrytalline quartz), called Banalinga also called (Banashivalingas) are much sought after for daily worship by the Hindus. hence
- stone = Banalinga
- river = Narmada
- mountain = Amarkantak of the Maikal hill range and where the river emerges
- sea = Arabian sea
many pilgrims walk on foot from the Arabian sea to the Maikal mountains to cover the Narmada Parikrama (Circumambulation)
- plant = Narmada Thermal power plant
Nitin (talk) 12:14, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
Ha ha! I liked the dimension of Nitin's lateral thinking! :-) Anyway, these are nowhere near the original answer.
EASY CLUE: There is a number 24 connected with the stone. And the stone is the central object. It is also highly revered as a sacred object by Hindus. ViswaPrabha വിശ്വപ്രഭ (talk) 13:24, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
- Gandaki River, Saligrama the sacred stone is of class Ammonites, disappeared during the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event, when the dinosaurs became extinct, (Vishnu) Tulsi Plant (Lakshmi), Arabian sea where the river meets the sea, mountain could be the source of Gandaki, Nhubine Himal Glacier??
