Mohammadshahr (Persian: محمدشهر)[a] is a city in the Central District of Khusf County, South Khorasan province, Iran.

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the population was 117 in 29 households, when it was the village of Moḩammadiyeh in the former Khusf District of Birjand County.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,707 people in 43 households,[5] by which time the village had been elevated to the status of a city.[6] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,590 people in 46 households,[2] when the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Khusf County. Mohammadshahr was transferred to the new Central District.[7]
