Kurka Rural District (Persian: دهستان كوركا)[3] is in the Central District of Astaneh-ye Ashrafiyeh County, Gilan province, Iran.[4] Its capital is the village of Kashal-e Azad Sara.[5] The previous capital of the rural district was the former village of Kurka.[6]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population was 12,936 in 3,729 households.[7] There were 10,374 inhabitants in 3,436 households at the following census of 2011.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 10,250 in 3,602 households. The most populous of its 22 villages was Chur Kuchan, with 1,271 people.[2]
