Comment There are two notable Zakir Hossain Raju's in the world. One makes commercial films. The other (this one) is an important scholar of cinema who has also made documentary films (but is notable for his academic writing, not for his films). When confronted with this problem, the author of this article renamed the other fellow to Jakir Hossain Raju. Although that is another possible transliteration of the Bengali name, I'm not at all convinced that it is how his name is most commonly transliterated. In short, I think we've got a mess on our hands, and retaining the disambiguator (professor) will be helpful until the correct name for the other article is determined. --Worldbruce (talk) 20:04, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support per nomination. No need for Zakir Hossain Raju to exist as a redirect to the four-sentence stub delineating Jakir Hossain Raju. Each of the two men is listed under each of those names at IMDb. The redirect and the parenthetical qualifier "(professor)" are unnecessary. Existing hatnotes atop both entries are sufficient to dispel any uncertainty. —Roman Spinner(talk • contribs)01:12, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
