D'Oyly, Samuel

[edit]

This man translated two books from French to English. The second one was the first multi-volume Bible Dictionary in English, and thus, it was referenced in all subsequent editions of the Bible Dictionary. This is why this person and his work is 'notable'. Notice that there are very few occurances of his name - anywhere on the web, so, I think I have exhausted the supply and I doubt that I'll be able to add any new material to this article. rebellious URLs-1

[edit]

footnote 4: A picture of a front cover of the 1732 English translation edition, listing D'Oyly and his Professional rank. https://www.sjdictionarysources.org/calmet-antoine-augustin.html If I change the URL to: Image to replace the URL with a label, then I get a 'image not found' error, so I gave up and left it a raw URL. rebellious URLs-2

[edit]

In footnote 7: Catalogue entry at the National Library of Australia https://trove.nla.gov.au/work/11299431/version/13247001%2019660137 If I change the url to: catalogue-entry then it will not go the correct website page, so I gave up and just left it as the raw URL. Perhaps someone could suggest a fix. Th74 (talk) 22:34, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
