Is this event actually happening?

[edit]

Since Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, we need some evidence that this event is actually scheduled to occur. Is there any such evidence? If not, I may begin the deletion process on this article. ☆ Bri (talk) 22:02, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A discussion is open at Wikipedia:Help desk#Application of WP:CRYSTAL to unscheduled pageant. ☆ Bri (talk) 16:01, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The Competition's Instagram account has announced dates, here (found by websearch, I don't use Instagram), but a message appended suggests this may already have been postponed. Make of it what you will. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 94.1.209.45 (talk) 17:33, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I used Philippine Daily Inquirer as a secondary source and added the postponement to the draft. ☆ Bri (talk) 14:24, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It might be too early to tag for deletion, just draftify for now and wait to see if the event is actually going to happen. Tutwakhamoe (talk) 00:57, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Good suggestion, I will draftify soon. ☆ Bri (talk) 01:56, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot about this discussion at VPM, it also resulted in draftification in a similar situation. ☆ Bri (talk) 21:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bri so please back Miss Charm 2024 to article, since already announced their host replacement country 77.77.219.225 (talk) 18:05, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anon: I added an Articles for creation header so that you can submit it whenever you feel it is ready. I don't think I need to personally service this draft. ☆ Bri (talk) 18:19, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When it's the date. @Bri 77.77.219.225 (talk) 08:00, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Bri There is a withdrawals under Argentina and Cambodia's failed appointed. 77.77.218.177 (talk) 13:31, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Restoration of section without independent sources

[edit]

@VBNg79: or another interested editor, can you explain why a section without any independent sources should be retained? You restored what seems to me to be a bunch of promotional material put out by the pageant. Wikipedia is not a TV guide nor a promotional vehicle, so unless you can make a sound argument otherwise, this stuff does not belong. ☆ Bri (talk) 17:02, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

hi, this is a newly established pageant and there aren't many media outlets covering it yet so i have no choice but relying on the organization's official social account as the sources of information. VBNg79 (talk) 17:37, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying! But "We have no choice" is not correct, in my opinion. It seems that you have implicitly agreed that this section is attributed to entirely primary sources, and probably promotional ones at that, so let's assume we both agree on that. The correct choice then is not to make the section at all, when it violates principles and policies of Wikipedia. There is no deadline and we can wait for proper sourcing. ☆ Bri (talk) 18:06, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like Sciencefish agrees, though I don't know if they saw this discussion. ☆ Bri (talk) 19:10, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't, but it was clear it was only primary sources. Sciencefish (talk) 19:56, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
