The Vietnam Cashew Association, established in 1990, is a socio-professional organization supporting all entities involved in the production, trade, and processing of cashews. It aims to enhance the sector’s development and protect the interests of its members. The association plays a vital role in advocating for sustainable practices and improving product quality across the cashew industry. [1]
The Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) gave the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture a $66,000 grant late last week to support cashew production in the Kingdom, according to ministry officials. According to Hean Vanhan, director general at General Directorate of Agriculture, the grant will go toward enacting a four-year plan that will see 1 million cashew trees planted on a new 500,000 hectare farm by 2022. [2]
The Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) is instrumental in monitoring Vietnam’s cashew export performance. For instance, in 2023, Vietnam surpassed its export target, reaching a total of 582,000 metric tons worth USD 3.31 billion. This was a significant increase compared to previous years, highlighting the association's role in promoting the sector internationally [3]
The Vietnam Cashew Association (Vinacas) also engages in international cooperation, such as providing financial support for cashew cultivation projects in neighboring countries like Cambodia. This collaboration further reinforces its mission to enhance the global cashew supply chain. [4]
