Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established. If you still feel that this subject is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, please rewrite your submission to comply with these policies. Declined by Theroadislong 3 months ago. |
- Comment: The gallery in "Notable projects" looks great and I can't deny that. However, 1- It is impossible to tell which photo is which project 2- it seems a teeny bit promotional ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 04:20, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

ARCH, previously known as Suters Architects[1], is an architectural and interior design firm that has delivered buildings across Australia since being founded in 1958. The firm operates in ten specialist sectors, including civic & community, education, health & wellbeing, hospitality, industry & science, residential, retail, seniors living, sport & leisure, and workplace.
The practice adopted the name ARCH in 2024 as an outworking of the 2022 dissolution of a business arrangement with Thailand based dwp | design worldwide partnership, the arch symbolises connection, convergence and community. ARCH's projects are designed to promote well-being and engagement, serving as social hubs, wellness centres, places of respect, sports and leisure venues, and entertainment destinations.
With over 70 employees, ARCH operates from five offices located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Newcastle, and Sydney, and is actively involved in projects across all states of Australia.
Current Directors are David Rose[2], Angus Rose[3], Michael Hegarty[4] and Scott Chapple[5].
History
[edit]ARCH is the new name for Suters Architects[1], founded in 1958. The architectural and interior design practice has grown over the decades, notably through mergers with Anderson Street Architects in Queensland, Prior & Cheney Architects[6] in Victoria and dwp in Asia and the Middle East. Suters Holdings sold its interest in dwp studios in Asia and the Middle East in late 2022 to focus on the Australian and Pacific regions, becoming dwp Australia[7].
The firm traded as dwp | design worldwide partnership[8] in Australia from 2017-2022, but that business relationship ended and the new name ARCH was established in 2024 for the trading entity dwp Australia Pty Ltd.
The practice was founded in 1958 by Brian Suters, who was honoured in 2009 with a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in recognition of his significant contribution to the architecture of Australia, and was made a free man of the City of Newcastle, NSW in 2022 due to his contribution to civic life and Newcastle's built form.[9]
A summary of the practice's earlier names:
- 1958: Suters Architects
- 2013: dwp | Suters[10][11][12]
- 2017: dwp | design worldwide partnership[8]
- 2022: dwp Australia Pty Ltd[7]
- 2024: ARCH[13]
