Smile For Me is a puzzle video game developed by LimboLane and published by Serenity Forge. The game was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on May 31, 2019.
Gameplay
[edit]Smile For Me is a point-and-click puzzle video game played from a first-person perspective. The player controls the unnamed protagonist, a florist who wakes up in the Habitat. The Habitat is a facility run by Dr. Boris Habit, who claims he will bring all the characters' smiles back if they stay. By exploring the building, the protagonist can find items, interact with glowing points of interest, and talk to characters. The player's only means of communication is through moving their mouse up and down to nod, or left and right to shake their head. Each resident of the Habitat requires the protagonist's help to solve their troubles. New areas and items are unlocked by solving characters' problems. The game features two possible endings depending on the player's choices throughout.
Additionally, the game features a time mechanic. Days pass in real-time, cycling through morning, midday, evening and night, during which the player character becomes drowsy and is instructed to return to their room. The player is required to make use of this time mechanic to solve some puzzles.
