Secret Nazi Bases (also known as Secret Nazi Ruins) is a Canadian documentary television series, directed by Daniel Oron of Go Button Media. The series explores various secret bases and projects that Hitler planned across Europe, including Villa Winter, Maisy, Dag Bromberg and more. The series features various experts, including: Rob Bell, Brooke Guzar, Robert Watson and more.
The series debuted on September 5, 2019 in the United States on Science Channel. Then it premiered on November 8, 2019 in the United Kingdom on Yesterday. Then it premiered in January 2020 on Documentary Channel in Canada.
The series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on July 25, 2021..[1][2] The series was then renewed for a third season, which premiered on September 18, 2023.[citation needed]

Production
[edit]The series was announced in April 2019, when SBS Rights acquired the rights to the series.[3][4]
The show began its production in November 2018, and it ended in May 2019. Go Button Media produced the series along with VisitGuernsey, Festung Guernsey, the Guernsey Armouries and the Guernsey Military Co.[5]
Daniel Oron, director and executive producer of the show, spoke with BBC Radio about the filming. He spoke with BBC Radio Guernsey and BBC Radio Jersey.[6][7]

In the United Kingdom, it premiered November 8, 2019 on Yesterday.
In Canada, it premiered on Documentary Channel on January 9, 2020.
In Australia, it airs on SBS.
In Poland, it airs on History Channel and Spektrum[8]
In Italy, it aired on Focus.
Reception
[edit]Science Channel, who airs the show in the United States, said: "To this day, the remains of Nazi Bases lie waiting to reveal their truth about Hitler’s tactics and dreams".[9]
Awards
[edit]Episode "Villa Winter" won the Silver Remi Award for Best Historical Program.[10]
