Investment Views

Cameron believes that US-China relations are in "structural decline" and indeed this is "the only thing that the Republicans and the Democrats agree on"[4]

In contrast to his negative outlook for the Chinese economy, he is generally positive on the outlook for India. In an interview with Investment Executive he said that "When you think of the fundamental appeal of emerging markets, India ticks all the boxes. It’s a young, growing population, with very low levels of indebtedness, and these structural trends — urbanization, technology, infrastructure, stable politics and market-friendly policies. And so India is a very good place to invest in, and continues to be"[5]

Cameron speaks Japanese fluently[6] and has contrasted the positive improvements being made in corporate governance in Japan with the lack of progress witnessed in China[7]
