Richard White is an Australian entrepreneur, best known as the founder and CEO of WiseTech Global ASXWTC, a technology company whose software powers half the world’s transport logistics,[1] and has the largest market capitalization of any information technology company on the ASX.[2] As of 2024, White is Australia's 11th wealthiest individual,[3] the wealthiest CEO of an Australian company,[4] and was featured on the front cover of Forbes in 2023.[5]

Early Life and Education

White was born in Sydney, Australia. He earned a Master of Business in Information Technology Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) who in 2008 awarded him with a UTS Alumni Award for professional achievement.[6]

Career

In 1994, White founded WiseTech Global, a company that has since become a major provider of logistics software globally. WiseTech's flagship product, CargoWise, is used extensively by logistics companies worldwide.[7] Prior to WiseTech, White founded and led Real Tech Systems Integration and Clear Group.[8][4]

In the 1980's, White served as an R&D manager for Jands, an audio, lighting, and staging technology company, where he gained valuable experience in technology solutions for various industries.[9]

WiseTech Global went public on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 2016, and under White's leadership, it has expanded both organically and through strategic acquisitions.[10]

Personal Life and Philanthropy

White is known for his commitment to sustainability, demonstrated by the construction of his self-powered mansion in Sydney.[11] He is also an advocate for the Australian tech industry, serving on the board of the Tech Council of Australia.
