Repartere (/rɛpɑːrtɛəˈr/; also stylized as Re:Partere) are an Indonesian alternative-pop band based in Bandung, West Java. Comprising of six members: vocalist Clara, guitarists Argi and Fauzan, bassist Fadhil, keyboardist Danend, and drummer Abay, the group's music primarily falls within the genres of alternative pop/rock, folk, and jazz.

Heavily influenced by Indonesian artists Payung Teduh, Mocca, and Dua Empat, the band first garnered attention with the release of their debut single, “Menuju Malam”, in 2020. They have released several additional singles over the years, including “Seruan Pasang Ombak", “Reminisensi”, and "Saat Purnama". The band’s debut album is currently in development as of 2024.

2019–2022: Formation and early years

[edit]

Repartere was officially formed in late 2019, with its members originally connecting with one another through an extracurricular club as students attending the same high school in Bandung.[1] The band name was inspired by keyboardist Danend's father, who had a band in his youth called "Partere". Their vision of creating a “second-generation” of the band led to the name "Re:Partere". In 2020, the band released their debut single, “Menuju Malam,” which garnered significant attention on social media.[2]

2023–present: Breakthrough

[edit]

In 2023, the band released their second single, “Seruan Pasang Ombak.” The creation of this song involved contributions from renowned Indonesian artists, including singer-songwriters Melly Goeslaw and Panji Sakti. This particular song experimented with poetic lyrics and expressive figurative language, exploring the emotional turmoil of detaching from a romantic partner. That same year, they also released “Reminisensi,” a song which explores the lingering memories of a former relationship, with specific scents and places evoking vivid recollections.[2]

The band has experienced some lineup changes over time. Vocalist Clara joined partway through the band’s journey, and in early 2024, keyboardist Danend and guitarist Fauzan took a temporary hiatus due to academic and personal commitments. In the same period, the band released their fourth single, “Saat Purnama.” As of mid-2024, Repartere is working on their debut album, with their third and fourth singles providing a glimpse into the album's style and themes. The band regularly performs at gigs and music festivals across Bandung and other regions in Indonesia.
