Preetinanda Routray is an Indian Odia Singer. Noted for her wide vocal range and versatility, she is one of the most prolific singers of Odisha. She is known for her natural pure voice with ability to reach a high pitch. She has recorded songs in films, erstwhile Cassettes and albums in Odia and Hindi languages. She has received various Awards and accolades including the State Film Awards several times. Preetinanda began learning music at the age of 4 from her Mother. At the age of 7, she started singing in stage programmes and at the age of 15, she started participating in programmes of All India Radio. Then she became an empanelled Singer Artist in All India Radio and later in Doordarshan as Singer Artist in A+ High category.Some of the most notable songs of Preetinanda are title song Rakhi bandhili morakhiba mana, Title song of Film Bou, Film Rakhile Shiva mariba kie, Sriya Chandaluni, Sri Jagannath and many more.[1][2][3][4]
Early life:
[edit]Preetinanda was born to Father Dr. Damodar Rout and Mother Sneha (Teacher). She completed high school on Tirtol. Then she pursued College studies in Cuttack City, where her singing career started reaching heights.
Singing Career:
[edit]Preetinanda started singing as a child artist in All India Radio Cuttack. She has started professional singing since the old Cassette days in Albums and several Odia Films. She has sung for HMV, T-Series, JE, Samrat, Badshah and others. She has worked with legendary Singers of the state like Akshaya Mohanty, Pranab Patnaik, Prafulla Kar, Chitta Jena, Trupti Das, Geeta Dash and others.
Political Career:

Hailing from the family of veteran Politician and Minister Dr. Damodar Rout, she entered into active politics in 2014 and joined Biju Janata Dal party. She won elections for the position of Corporator of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation. She has won elections twice and is continuing to hold that position till now.
Awards:
[edit]Preetinanda has won Best Playback Singer Award of the State three times forher songs in Odia films. She has also won the Cinecritic Awards many times, apart from several other Awards as a vocal Artist and also as a Social Worker.
