Draft:Nick E. Smith
Appearance
Submission declined on 26 May 2024 by Jamiebuba (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Also to add that there is nothing in that single sentence that tells the reader why this person should be included in a global encyclopaedia; it merely states that he exists and works in a particular role – so what? Which is another way of saying that even if this were accepted, it would be immediately exposed to A7 speedy deletion. DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:07, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Please do not resubmit until the issues highlighted by Tim are addressed. Personally, i dont see the subject passing WP:GNG. Jamiebuba (talk) 12:03, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: I am not reviewing this a second time. Please note that repeated resubmissions without real improvement will delay any putative acceptance. You have work to do yourself first. Please note that you have not actually drafted an article. It contains one line only, and that line, "Nick E. Smith (born February 15, 1985) is an American civil servant, who is the First Deputy Public Advocate of the City of New York.[1][2][3][4][5][6]" is a prime example of WP:CITEKILL. Instead we need one excellent reference per fact asserted. If you are sure it is beneficial, two, and at an absolute maximum, three. Three is not a target, it's a limit. Aim for one. A fact you assert, once verified in a reliable source, is verified. More is gilding the lily. Please choose the very best in each case of multiple referencing for a single point and either drop or repurpose the remainder. What you should be doing is finding your references before attempting the draft, marshalling them into a storyboard, and then saying, in your own word what they say about Smith. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 11:48, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
