Neiro token (ticker: Neiro) is a decentralized cryptocurrency created in July 2024 by an anonymous person or group.
It is inspired by the dog Neiro, a Japanese dog breed, the heir of Doge, adopted by the same loving hands that cared for Doge. It is a cryptocurrency with meme origins. Some[who?] categorize Neiro as a "meme coin."
On 15 August 2024, Vitalik Buterin donated 532398 USD, which was 5 times the amount that he got when he sold his Neiro coins on 4 August 2024 for ~42 ETH to the Effective Altruism Funds (Animal Welfare Fund). Also the community supporting Neiro made several donations to SeBPRA.
