Naro Shankar Rajebahadur (Born Unknown - 1775) was a Sardar of the Maratha Confederacy and a Shiledar under Malhar Rao Holkar. Born as a Rigvedi Deshastha Brahman to Shankaraji Pant, a Divan of the Subah of Bijapur. He was known to be a brave commander in the Maratha Army and fought in multiple battles including the Battle of Vasai, Capture of Jhansi, Battle of Delhi and the Battle of Rattihali.[1] He also constructed many notable buildings such as the Malegaon Fort[2] and the Naroshankar Temple[3] in Vasai and is credited for greatly extending the Jhansi Fort in an extension known as Shankergarh.[4]
