The system assists in managing human resources activities, including the automation of administrative tasks.

In 2020, the system's onboarding feature ranked first in the "The Best 7 Free and Open Source Onboarding Software" list on the GoodFirms portal.

Employee Experience

[edit]

Employee Experience refers to all impressions and experiences an employee gathers from the time of recruitment to when an employee leaves the organization. It contains everything from how employees are trained and the technology and services they use to accomplish their responsibilities at work.

The concept is similar to Customer Experience, which focuses on the consumer's experience. The philosophy of Customer Relationship Management deals with the client-company relationship, while Employee Experience Management focuses on the employee-company relationship.

Jacob Morgan identified three spheres of Employee Experience:

  • company culture
  • work environment
  • new technologies

Company Culture includes the organization's mission, vision, and values, as well as its communication style and structure, all of which directly impact employees.

Work Environment refers to the conditions of the employee's workplace, such as office design, the demographics of colleagues (age and gender), work systems (e.g., required hours, flexible schedules), benefits, and more.

New Technologies cover all the tools and solutions available to employees, ranging from intranet systems and social networks to access to company tools from personal devices, as well as the quality and availability of equipment. New technologies also include e-learning platforms, webinars, and company software.

History

[edit]

The software were created in 2018, and it is based on two other Open-Sourced Customer Relationship Management systems – SugarCRM and SuiteCRM.

The creators of MintHCM developed the system to address their own needs, such as managing administrative tasks and improving internal communication. The idea is to create a solution that solves all HR-related challenges faced by other companies. This is why the decision was made to develop the software based on Open Source technology, which allows for continuous improvement through the addition and enhancement of features, and easy customization.

Features

[edit]

HR departments handle administrative tasks that are essential in every organization. These tasks often involve formalized processes such as recruitment, performance evaluation, and payroll management. Over time, managing "human capital" has become a vital and complex responsibility. The role of HR includes maintaining employee data, such as personal histories, skills, achievements, capabilities, and salaries. To reduce the manual workload involved in these activities, many organizations have adopted specialized Human Resource Management Systems to automate these processes and improve efficiency.

HR managers work with internal or external IT specialists to develop and maintain integrated Human Capital Management (HCM) system. Before the rise of client-server technology in the late 1980s, HR automation often relied on mainframe computers that could handle large data transactions. However, the high costs of purchasing or developing proprietary software meant these systems were only available to organizations with significant financial resources. The development of client-server models, application service providers (ASP), and Software as a Service (SaaS) has since made HCM more accessible, giving organizations greater control over their HR processes.

MintHCM offers the following features for human resource management and more:

  • recruitment
  • job description
  • employer branding
  • onboarding
  • employee profile

  • employment history
  • employee performance
  • time management
  • calendar
  • travel & expenses
  • resources booking
  • leave management

  • workplace
  • analytics
  • system administration
