The Marjan Foundation is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to relieving poverty by sponsoring and providing financial and resettlement assistance to refugees in Turkey. [edit]The Marjan Foundation was founded in 2016 by Arsham Parsi in response to the escalating refugee crisis and the lack of specialized support for persecuted minorities. Initially, the foundation focused on helping LGBTQ+ refugees. However, in 2019, the foundation expanded its efforts by launching its Canadian Private Sponsorship Program[1], which provides direct financial and resettlement assistance to refugees. Over time, the foundation broadened its services to assist all individuals in need, regardless of background, while maintaining a strong commitment to human rights and social justice.
Impact
[edit]Since its inception, the Marjan Foundation has played an instrumental role in helping refugees in Turkey find safety and rebuild their lives. Through sponsorship, financial support, and resettlement initiatives, the foundation has enabled countless individuals and families to escape poverty and persecution.
