Early Life and Background
[edit]Yusif Khalilov was born in Baku but moved to Moscow at the age of 6. It was during his time in Moscow that he started learning more about famous artists, immersing himself in art books and gaining early artistic inspiration. In 2006, he returned to Baku, where he attended high school and later university. At age 14, he began visiting the school library to read about renowned artists such as Salvador Dalí and Leonardo da Vinci. Fascinated by their creative visions and techniques, he sought to learn more, despite limited internet access at the time. Books, TV channels, and art programs became his primary sources of inspiration and knowledge.
In 2013, Yusif Khalilov entered a flower shop to buy a bouquet for his cousin. Dissatisfied with the bouquet the shop owner created, he asked if he could arrange it himself. Impressed by the result, the shop owner offered him a job, marking the beginning of his journey as a florist.
In December 2015, Yusif Khalilov launched his first independent project. Collaborating with an Azerbaijani model, he used flowers and flower petals to decorate the model's face, stepping beyond traditional bouquets to explore new artistic expressions. This project gained attention and was highlighted in Azerbaijani media.[1].
That same month, he collaborated with Azerbaijani superstar Gunay Ibrahimli on a photoshoot for the Christmas season. KhalilovYusif dressed the singer as a Christmas tree using real Christmas branches, creating a stunning and imaginative project. In January 2016, his projects and ambitions continued to grow, gaining further recognition in the media. That same month, Yusif Khalilov undertook another groundbreaking project involving multiple models, including Aysel Manafova, Miss Azerbaijan 2012. For this project, he designed a floral beard for Manafova, redefining floral art in a way that had never been seen before. [edit]In 2013, after gaining experience in various flower shops, KhalilovYusif learned that Dmitry Turcan, one of the most recognizable Russian-speaking floral artists, had moved to Baku to open a flower shop named Lilac [4]. Determined to advance his career, he approached Turcan and asked to join the team. Initially recruited as a florist assistant, he quickly rose to become the head florist at one of the shop's locations [5]. Turcan not only managed him but also became the first person to encourage and nurture his creative growth and talent.

Valued at over 1,000,000 Euros, the bouquet featured stunning "Sofie" and "Wedding Invite" roses, "Chocolate Brown Vanda" orchids, and deep purple Calla Lilies, all adorned with sparkling diamonds.
