Jonathan Clement "JC" Abalos is a Filipino politician and a Philippine House of Representatives member for the 4Ps Party-list alongside Marcelino Libanan. He is the nephew of Filipino secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr.
Personal life
[edit]Jonathan is a part of the influencial Abalos family, containing Filipino DILG secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. (uncle)[1] and Filipino COMELEC secretary Benjamin Abalos (grandfather).[2]
Career
[edit]In 2022, he was a part of the five nominees of the 4Ps Party-list,[1] eventually winning along with House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, he was also titled as the Assistant Minority Leader.[2]
Political positions
[edit]Jonathan opposes poverty, helping poor people and residents. He also supports adding measures to empower marginalized individuals, remove borders, and easily create socio-economic progress. These measures include addressing sexism.[3]
Controversy
[edit]In early 2024, Jonathan blamed Senator Imee Marcos for the low budget for a cash transfer program, made by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).[4]
