Jeremiah's Italian Ice is an American chain of Italian ice and ice cream shops based in Winter Park, Florida. Created in 1996 by founder Jeremy Litwack, it has expanded since 2014 from the single Winter Park location to a franchise chain spanning across the Southern United States.[1] As of 2024, there are more than 130 locations.[2]
History
[edit]Jeremiah's Italian Ice was founded by Jeremy Litwack, an entrepreneur who is still the current owner of the franchise, though on June 27, 2023, he relinquished the title of CEO and handed it over to Michael Keller.[3] Originally, the business started as a pushcart in front of the Philadelphia Mint. After graduating college, Litwack brought the company to Central Florida in 1995. Finally, in 1996 the first Jeremiah's Italian Ice location officially opened in Winter Park, Florida. In 2019, Litwack and his team decided to take Jeremiah's to the next level by franchising. The first franchise locations opened in 2020, and within just a few years, the company expanded to nearly 130 stores across 11 states.[4]
