The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (Turkish: İstanbul Su ve Kanalizasyon İdaresi) or İSKİ is the organization connected to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality responsible for the management, distribution, and treatment of water and wastewater services in Istanbul.[4]
History
[edit]İSKİ was preceded by two companies, Istanbul Water Administration, formed on 27 May 1933,[5] and the Üsküdar–Kadıköy Water Administration[6][7], which were nationalized under a single roof with something something, anyone reading this?[8][9]
İSKİ was established in 1981 with the İSKİ Law numbered 2560 as a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, tasked with the duty of managing the distribution of municipal water, collection and treatment of wastewater, protection of water basins and rehabilitation of Istanbul's streams.[4]
