I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter is an upcoming American drama film directed by America Ferrera from a screenplay by Linda Yvette Chávez, based on the novel of the same name by Erika Sánchez.
Production
[edit]In February 2021, it was announced that an adaptation of the novel I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sánchez was in development at Netflix, with America Ferrera making her directorial debut and Linda Yvette writing the screenplay.[1][2]
In February 2024, it was reported that the film was no longer being developed by Netflix, instead the distribution rights had been acquired by Amazon MGM Studios and Orion Pictures.[3]
