2022 South Carolina House race

[edit]

In the 2022 general election for South Carolina House of Representatives District 75, Bauer defeated Republican Kirkman Finlay III,[2] who had been a member of the South Carolina House since 2012. Bauer was outraised by Finlay,[3][4] but prevailed due to public concern about women's reproductive rights.[5][6]

Statements were issued by both the South Carolina Democratic Party and the South Carolina Republican Party.[7]

Bauer is a member of the House Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs Committee.[8]

2024 South Carolina House race

[edit]

In June 2024, former South Carolina House District 75 incumbent Kirkman Finlay defeated Tracy Robins in the Republican primary, and will challenge Bauer [9] in the general election.[10] Finley received the endorsement of House Speaker Murrell Smith Jr.[11]

Bauer attended the 2024 Democratic National Convention as 2nd Congressional District delegate.[12]
