Farmers Boulevard is a south/north Boulevard in Queens, New York City. It is 3.8 miles (6.1 km) long that runs from Hollis Avenue in Hollis, Queens through Hollis, St. Albans, Jamaica, Rochdale Village, and Springfield Gardens and is bordered along John F. Kennedy International Airport at it's southern end. Originally known as Farmers Avenue. The earliest history of the throughout-fare dates back to the 1800s following the incorporation of the "Village of Jamaica", the first street lights along the throughout-fare were constructed, it's first NYC Railway station was constructed by July 1, 1898.[1]
Route Description
[edit]The north end of Farmers Boulevard is the intersection of Hollis Avenue and 190th Street as a simple two-way street, which gradually begins to become more dense as it is followed south. Between 113th Avenue and 114th Road aswell as between Turin Drive and 118th Avenue, the median of the street is widen. The route continues all the way until North Boundry Road which marks the entrance to John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Major Intersections
[edit]Farmers Boulevard intersects with many other major notable roads such as Liberty Avenue, Linden Boulevard, Merrick Boulevard, Guy R Brewer Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard. At it's southern end, it intersects with a major expressway, JFK Expressway which can be accessed via Belt Parkway.

Transportation
[edit]Farmers Boulevard is served by the following routes:
- The Q3 runs the entire length of Farmers Boulevard fully local towards the 165th Street Bus Terminal or John F. Kennedy International Airport.
- The Q83 local and limited buses briefly runs between Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer station or Cambria Heights between Liberty Avenue and Murdock Avenue
- The Q85 local and limited buses briefly runs between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer station to Rosedale or Green Acres Mall between Bedell Street and 140th Avenue.
- The Q111 will sometimes begin local service to Parsons Boulevard station at Farmers Boulevard and Guy R Brewer Boulevard.
- The Q6 local and limited buses will briefly intersect at Farmers Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard towards the 165th Street Bus Terminal or John F. Kennedy Airport's Cargo area.
- The X64 will run express between Linden Boulevard and Liberty Avenue towards Midtown Manhattan or Cambria Heights
