Deeper is an upcoming American supernatural thriller film directed by Doug Liman and written by Max Landis. It stars Tom Cruise.

[edit]On March 30, 2016, it was announced that Max Landis' spec script Deeper, a drama thriller film directed by Kornél Mundruczó would direct the film, which would be produced by Landis along with David S. Goyer and Kevin Turen through Phantom Four, and Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder through Addictive Pictures.[1] On April 12, 2016, it was reported that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) had won the bidding war for rights to the film from other major studios will produce the film.[2] In April 2018, Mark Scruton was added in the film as a production designer, which would be filmed in Budapest, Hungary.[3] On October 25, 2018, Baltasar Kormákur was set to direct instead of Mundruczó.[4] In November 2024, Mundruczó and Elba were no longer involved, with Doug Liman hired instead to direct.[5]
Casting
[edit]On March 30, 2016, Bradley Cooper was cast in and produce the film.[1] On September 20, 2017, Gal Gadot was cast in the film for an unspecified role.[6] In February 2019, Idris Elba replaced Cooper and Gadot.[7] In November 2024, Tom Cruise was cast in the lead role.[5]
