Dave Litfin (1958-2022), was a widely-respected thoroughbred horse racing handicapper and columnist for The Daily Racing Form over a career spanning more than three decades.[1][2][3][4]

He authored two books on the subject of horse racing, Dave Litfin's Expert Handicapping: Winning Insights into Betting Thoroughbreds[5] and Real-Life Handicapping: An Eclectic Horseplayers Year at the Track[6]. Litfin also appears as a guest author in Andrew Beyer's Bet With the Best 2: Longshots[7].

After his passing in 2022[8], Litfin was honored with a memorial street, "Litfin Lane" at the Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Ranch in Georgetown, KY.[9]
