I understand, but I am making this to be a source of information on the 14 Alton Jones.
The 14 Alton jones is an extinct rimfire cartridge that was made in the 1920s by a gunsmith in Portland Oregon by the name of Alton Jones. The 14 Alton Jones is a necked down .22 Long Rifle to fit a .145 caliber bullet. The round would have achieved 1400-1600 fps out of a 5” revolver barrel with a 15 grain bullet. The round was used in a revolver.[1] In P. O. Ackleys Handbook for shooters and reloaders he says ".14 Jones: A very interesting sub-caliber cartridge is the .14 Jones." [1]The 14 Alton Jones Rimfire was never a commercially available cartridge and was never adopted by any big factory loaders like Remington Arms , Winchester Arms, or Federal Cartridge Company, so it is classified as such a Wildcat cartridge. The round was first loaded with DuPont #80 gunpowder which burned faster than most other gun powders at the time.[2] The cartridge is loaded with 15-25 grain bullets. There is only 1 known revolver that is chambered in 14 Alton Jones.[1] The 14 Alton Jones is one of the many cartridges made by Alton Jones. The sibling cartridges are the .145 Alton Jones, .17 Scorpion, .240 Rimless, and the .26 Pistol cartridge.[3]
