Move to LGBTQ

[edit]

@HouseBlaster: the Speedy move of this one seems premature, as Category:LGBT-related mass media has not been moved yet. Will that set be moved as a matter of course? if not, I suggest we summarily revert this one. – Fayenatic London 20:16, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I had been making my way through the list of LGBT categories following Talk:LGBTQ#Requested move 14 August 2024, but I stopped now that the move is at being reviewed at Wikipedia:Move review/Log/2024 September#LGBTQ. I would not strongly object to reverting all of the LGBT(Q) moves, though consensus seems to favor the move and therefore I question whether reverting the move just creates more work in the future. OK then, I'll leave it, and let you carry on when that's closed.
Please note that the links and descriptions in the category pages will want updating too. – Fayenatic London 09:03, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Issue

[edit]

@HouseBlaster, @Fayenatic london This category is a subcategory of Category:LGBTQ-related mass media, but I believe it is an administrative category and should not be accessible from categoryspace. Any thoughts? JuxtaposedJacob (talk) | :) | he/him | 09:50, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@JuxtaposedJacob: such parenting is standard, e.g. Category:Mass media stubs is in Category:Mass media. I believe it's intentional, so that interested editors can see related topic pages that need expanding. We use the Greek sort key Σ to place stub categories after the regular content on the main category page. – Fayenatic London 10:25, 21 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Fayenatic london
