Mongols in China is certainly a label that a non-expert might find confusing, and which might have also been more appropriately labeled as Mongols of China. However, Chinese people of Mongolian descent sounds very insulting to me, unless you talk about citizens of Mongolia of non-Mongol ethnicity that have adopted Chinese ethnicity. People of Mongol ethnicity born in China are certainly precisely that, Chinese citizens of Mongolian ethnicity, but they are not Chinese people in any unambiguous sense. (Uncertainty about when to use what label is quite common for Mongolian citizens of China when they introduce themselves to foreigners to the region.) This part, if unfortunate, might still be acceptable, but of Mongolian descent is very insulting. Since most of these people identify as Mongolians, they are not merely of Mongolian descent (as if they were 5th-generation migrants), but are Mongols in any proper sense of the word. For this reason, I am opening this section to inquire for possible ways of renaming this category before I actually move it or ask administrators to move it.
