Aligudarz County (Persian: شهرستان الیگودرز) is in Lorestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Aligudarz.[3]

History

After the 2006 National Census, the village of Shulabad-e Sofla was elevated to city status as Shulabad.[4]

After the 2011 census, Borborud-e Gharbi Rural District was separated from the Central District in the formation of Borborud-e Gharbi District, including the new Cheshmeh Par Rural District. Borborud-e Sharqi and Farsesh Rural Districts were also separated from the Central District to form Borborud-e Sharqi District.[5]

After the 2016 census, Chaman Soltan,[6] Shahpurabad,[6] and Titkan[7] were elevated to city status.

The county is populated by various Lur tribes.[8]

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 134,802 in 28,668 households.[9] The following census in 2011 counted 140,275 people in 35,020 households.[10] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 137,534 in 38,503 households.[2]
