Local elections will be held in Marilao, Bulacan on May 12, 2025 within the Philippine general election. The voters will elect the elective local posts in the municipality: the mayor, vice mayor, and eight councilors.

Background

[edit]

After the death of former mayor Ricky Silvestre in 2022, his vice mayor Henry Lutao succeeded him and became the incumbent mayor. He will be running for his full term, with his main opponent being Atty. Jem Sy, an actress and president of the Jemina Sy Foundation, who previously ran for mayor in the 2019 and 2022 elections.[1]

For vice mayor, Bob dela Cruz, who came next to Lutao in succession, will be running for his full term against term-limited councilor Ariel Amador.

Results

[edit]

The candidates for mayor and vice mayor with the highest number of votes wins the seat; they are voted separately, therefore, they may be of different parties when elected.

Councilor Luisa Silvestre, who filled the vacant seat after her husband's death, will run for her full term.
