Yunus Khan (born 1 August 1964), also known as Yoonus Khan,[1] is an Indian politician from Rajasthan. He was a cabinet minister in the government of Rajasthan led by Vasundhara Raje and a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party. He represented the former Nagaur district's Didwana and current District of Didwana-Kuchaman district in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He was a minister of Public Works and Transport Department. Currently Khan is serving as an independent MLA from the district headquarters, Didwana.
Personal life
[edit]Khan was born to Taju Khan.[2] He is post graduate and did his Master of Commerce from Rajasthan University, Jaipur in 1986.[2] Khan is a farmer by profession.[2]
Political career
[edit]In the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly election, Khan ran against Sachin Pilot from Tonk, and lost the election. Pilot received 109,040 votes and Khan received 54,861.
In the Vidhan Sabha election of 2024, Khan keft the BJP Party, ran as an independent candidate from the district headquarters Didwana, and won against the major political parties. He defeated Jeetendera Singh of BJP and Chetan Dudi of Indian National Congress. Khan received 70,952 votes, with around 36% vote share.
Khan has ten years of experience as a minister of state. During his 2013-2019 term, he made a significant improvement in roads and transport all over Rajasthan and especially in the current district headquarters, Didwana.[citation needed]
