You Are the Apple of My Eye (Korean그 시절, 우리가 좋아했던 소녀), is a 2024 South Korean coming of age romance film. It is based on the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name by Taiwanese author Giddens Ko. The film, a feature directorial debut of Cho Young-myoung is remake of 2011 Taiwanese film of the same name. The film starring Dahyun and Jung Jin-young, follows immature Jin-woo, who spent countless days before confessing to his first love Seon-ah at the age of 18.[1]

The film will have its world premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival on October 3, 2024.[2][3]

Production

In May, 2024 JYP Entertainment reported that Dahyun was cast as the female lead in the Korean remake of You Are the Apple of My Eye. They further reported, "We have received an offer for the work and are currently reviewing it."[4] Jung Jin-young's agency Management Run also confirmed his appearance in the film.[5]

After completing the casting the principal photography began in early June, 2024.[6]

You Are the Apple of My Eye will premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival in Korean Cinema Today - Panorama section on October 3, 2024.[2]

The film has been sold overseas in 8 countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand.[6]
