Wooter
Wooter (founded in 2014) is an American sports technology and athletic apparel company headquartered in Staten Island, New York.[1][2][3]
History
[edit]Wooter was founded in 2014 by Alex Aleksandrovski, David Kleyman, and Alex Kagan. Wooter serves over 12,000 sports organizations in more than 40 countries worldwide.[4][5]
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Wooter played a role to meet the global demand for personal protective equipment (PPE) and in 2020 it launched CovCare[1] to provide essential medical supplies like masks, gloves, and other PPE products. While Wooter was originally focused on custom sports apparel and sports technology, CovCare became its response to the health crisis.[6]
Products and Services
[edit]Wooter provides services focused on improving the sports experience for both players and organizations. The League Management Software assists in the organization of sports leagues by offering tools to handle scheduling, standings, and player statistics. This software allows sports organizations to create custom apps and websites, enhancing engagement and operational efficiency by helping players set up profiles and track their performance.[7][2]
Community Impact
[edit]Wooter collaborates with nonprofit organizations and youth leagues. The company sponsors teams and events that promote sportsmanship and athletics, particularly in underprivileged areas.[8][9]
Wooter has also supported Ballin 4 Peace, Each One Teach One at Rucker Park, and Smush Parker’s Basketball Camp. Notably, Wooter collaborated with Ballin 4 Peace, a community outreach event that raises gun violence awareness in Queens, New York. The company also provided custom jerseys for the Balling 4 Lupus charity basketball game, supporting the Lupus Foundation of America.[3][10]
