Essay reading list for new editors?
I'm looking for a reading list of a dozen or two high-quality essays to suggest to new editors on this new conclusion page of the introductory tutorial series. Right now, it links to the WP:Essay directory, but that's way too long, not all essays there are best for newcomers, and not all are high quality. Has anyone previously created such a list? - When I created our essay directory I made a sub-list related to protocols - of the most linked essays at Help:Directory#Community standards and advice (may be dated). That could be repeated and expanded on at Wikipedia:Essays in a nutshell ...who's subpages could easily be converted for newbies... it's long been neglected ever since the directory was created. Don't think anyone would object to it's updating and function switch. Better to reboot old page then create yet another list people have to find. Plus you love odd formated pages...be bold in this case. ☺ PS we have Wikipedia:Dos and don'ts...might be a good links to add throughout newbie intros.--Moxy 🍁 19:50, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- Hmm, those look like more directory pages, whereas I'm seeking something that's more a reading list of "best of" examples. I vaguely recall seeing something like it on someone's user page a while back, but finding that would be about 10x the work of recreating it. Sdkb (talk) 08:50, 29 March 2020 (UTC)
