Italics/Asterisks

First, I think it may be appropriate to mention asterisks and their useage as well as asterisks/all-caps in Knights of the Old Republic (and possibly other videogames):

*Asterisks* denote an action or italics in Knights of the Old Republic:

*sigh*

"They deserve *no mercy*." – Carth Onasi

ALL-CAPS denote bold in Knights of the Old Republic:

'Do NOT open the box.'

The issues that need to be resolved are:

• Should *asterisks* or italics be used for emphasis, especially when quoted from a game (Knights of the Old Republic)
• Should ALL-CAPS or bold be used for emphasis, if at all, especially when quoted from a game (Knights of the Old Republic)
• Should asterisks ( *sigh* ) or brackets ( [sigh] ) be used for actions, especially when quoted from a game (Knights of the Old Republic)

(In all above examples the Knights of the Old Republic version is on the left, with the standard on the right - but it is a matter of preference, and soon, hopefully consensus, shich to use)

Naming

I think that using a person's canon title at the time of his/her death is most appropriate (Revan rather than Darth Revan or Darth Vader rather than Anakin Skywalker, and having redirects (possibly soft ones) from other titles.

Or should people be split, such as having two artcles: Revan and Darth Revan / Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker, basing the contents of each on the person's actions during that alignment and having links to the other.

Bolded, then italicized?

"As displayed above, the first mention of the article topic must be bolded and italicised thereafter."

Bolding the term follows the Wikipedia Manual of Style, but what's the reason for specifying that the term should then be italicized every time after that? That is not in the MoS. – Mipadi 21:56, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

It's a common "house rule" among some fictional MoStyles. I don't like it either, but I had to include it for safety purposes. Remove it if you wish (BTW, the new location is: Wikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/Manual of style. — Deckiller 23:47, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Quotes

We should have a citation standard section there somewhere. I've also noticed leadoff quotes in a lot of the articles, should we have them or not? —Mirlen 15:52, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

I believe I placed a number in the Manual of style discouraging leadoff quotes, so we should definitely transfer them to Wikiquote or a small quote section near the end. — Deckiller 15:54, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok cool. Just as long we we keep them on the article somwhere else (like a quote section). You never know; in the future, it might become accepted to use lead quotes. — Deckiller 15:59, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

I did rmv the quotes on the respective pages: Anakin Solo, Tahiri Veila, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo, Leia Organa Solo, but Maru suggests to move them into the sections as a starting quote, instead of as a leadoff. —Mirlen 19:28, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
