WikiProject Spirits Created

[edit]

On the 28 December 2008 I created this project, WikiProject Spirits. Lets hope it works!

New Portal, Drinks

[edit]

I have created a new portal for the beverage community. While the Beer and Wine projects have their own specialized portals, the rest of the Drink WikiProjects do not have their own portal to call their own.

It is here. Please be warned, it is still a work in progress and is not fully populated.

I would gladly welcome the assistance of the members of this project in getting it up and running.

I'll help. -- MISTER ALCOHOL TC 13:31, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Template Tagging

[edit]

I'm going to see if I can find a bot to tag all the articles within the Category: Distilled beverages as they all fit under our scope.

Cabe6403 (TalkSign!) 21:01, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As Cabe6403 mentioned, AnomieBOT has been asked to tag all articles in Category:Distilled beverages and all subcategories with {{WikiProject Spirits}}. AnomieBOT has already been approved to do things like this, as long as the WikiProject affected approves of the list of categories to be processed. At first glance, the list of categories looks OK to me with the exception of Category:Distilerias Serrallés and Category:Distillation; in fact, I would say Category:Distilled beverages should be a subcategory of Category:Distillation instead. Also, I have a few questions:

  • Articles will be automatically assessed as "stub" if they are in any category ending in "stubs". Is this acceptable, or should this be turned off?
  • The bot can also automatically assess disambiguation pages and redirects (and set importance=NA), it can leave them unassessed, or it can not-tag them. Which do you prefer?
  • Do you want non-article pages tagged, for example images, templates, categories, and so on? All will be also marked with an appropriate assessment class and importance=NA. A list of namespaces is at WP:NS#Basic namespaces.
  • Transclusions of {{WPSPIRIT}} will be replaced with {{WikiProject Spirits}} when the page is edited. This may happen for example if the page already has {{WPSPIRIT}} but the bot can auto-assess it.

Please reply with any comments or questions, and answers to the above questions. Thanks. Anomie 22:53, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the issue, Category:Distilled beverages is now a subcategory of Category:Distillation instead of the other way around. I believe that you can now tag the articles as such.--Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 01:22, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say let the bot do it's autoassessing for stubs, disambigs and redirects. If possible could the bot tag non article pages too. Sound good? Cabe6403 (TalkSign!) 12:25, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Probably... -- MISTER ALCOHOL TC 13:41, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

Hello folks, I notice that the bot has tagged all articles in Category:Fortified wine as this category was placed in Category:Distilled beverages. Is this as intended? I would probably consider spiritis as a raw material for e.g. Sherry rather than Sherry as a spirit, but it's entirely up to you. Hello from WP:WINE, Tomas e (talk) 21:33, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think articles such as Sherry should be covered under our scope since it is made with distilled spirits. Thats my view on it anyway, a product containing distilled spirits such as Port which is essentially distilled wine. Opinions? Cabe6403(TalkSign!) 18:16, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Spirits thanks you
  • Noilly Prat untagged. As the bot cannot read, it will not have not have known that Noilly is neither a spirit nor a distilled product, and neither does it contain any spririt or distilled ingredients. I suspect this is true of all vermouths, so someone ought to look at those as well. Emeraude (talk) 17:26, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With the merger of WP:SSP and WP:RFCU to create Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations, there has been discussion about what to use as a shortcut. Unfortunately, SPI is taken by this project, and SPI would fit perfectly with the new sockpuppet page. Because the SPI redirect is hardly linked to, and it makes much more sense for sockpuppet investigations than SSPI (the current redirect), could this shortcut be dissociated with this project? Xclamation point 01:23, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think it to be a good idea, WP:SIRITS, WP:DBEV (Distilled beverages), or WP:STILL are all good choices. Any one else? --Jeremy ( Blah blah...) 02:01, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken the liberty of relinking WP:SPI to the sock puppet investigation page and also linked WP:SPIR to us. --Cabe6403 (TalkSign!) 03:02, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Citation lacking on Speyburn page

Coordinators' working group

[edit]

Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.

All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 06:38, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to take the position of coordinator for this wikiproject. Anyone have any objections or other thoughts in the next 24 hours just post a reply to this. Cabe6403 (TalkSign!) 10:53, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Since it seems no one has any objections then I'll assume the de facto role of project coordinator though I use the term in the loosest way possible. Every member of this project has an equal say.Cabe6403 (TalkSign!) 14:51, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.

If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Message sent by User:Addbot to all active wiki projects per request, Comments on the message and bot are welcome here.

History of Rum

I'm thinking of creating and then FAing History of Rum, as the base article is very, very big, and my book only really covers the history in detail. Any objections? ResMar 23:57, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would gladly peer review the article for you to help bring it to GA status, as I have done before in the past with other articles (Odwalla, now FA). A quick read just now revealed some issues that will be needed to addressed before either nomination can be put forth. GA Sweeps invitation

[edit]

This message is being sent to WikiProjects with GAs under their scope. Since August 2007, WikiProject Good Articles has been participating inGA sweeps. The process helps to ensure that articles that have passed a nomination before that date meet theGA criteria. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. Instead of reviewing by topic, editors can consider picking and choosing whichever articles they are interested in.

We are always looking for new members to assist with reviewing the remaining articles, and since this project has GAs under its scope, it would be beneficial if any of its members could review a few articles (perhaps your project's articles). Your project's members are likely to be more knowledgeable about your topic GAs then an outside reviewer. As a result, reviewing your project's articles would improve the quality of the review in ensuring that the article meets your project's concerns on sourcing, content, and guidelines. However, members can also review any other article in the worklist to ensure it meets the GA criteria.

If any members are interested, please visit the GA sweeps page for further details and instructions in initiating a review. If you'd like to join the process, please add your name to the running total page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles from the worklist or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. With ~1,300 articles left to review, we would appreciate any editors that could contribute in helping to uphold the quality of GAs. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing!Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:46, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ratings and awards

Cut brandy or brandy blend?

[edit]

I did notice that the article cut brandy is within the scope of this WikiProject. Is there really an English word "cut brandy"? I'm German and English isn't my mother tongue, but I doubt this! Here are my reasons why:

1. It seems to me that "cut brandy" is a faulty translation of the German word Weinbrandverschnitt! Weinbrand is the German word for brandy, but the German term Verschnitt has diverse meanings: blending, blend, waste material, cut, or clippings.

2. At least Google says the English translation of Weinbrandverschnitt is brandy blend. see: http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&text=fehlerhaft%0D%0A&sl=de&tl=en#de%7Cen%7CWeinbrandverschnitt%0A

3. My most important reason is this textbook: http://books.google.com/books?id=xteiARU46SQC&pg=PA931&dq=brandy+blend Quote: Brandy to which alcohol is added is designated as a brandy blend or adulterated brandy. (see: 20.3.2.3.1)

It's of course possible that "cut brandy" simply is a synonym, but I wasn't able to find any sources to prove that hypothesis. Well, what is true? Should that article be renamed?95.89.154.162 (talk) 01:56, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the proposed naming convention on cuisines that has been percolating for some time, I would like to request all members to please take a look and comment on its talk page. This is a very important rule set that needs to be decided upon, if you wish to establish or please comment under the appropriate section. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 07:28, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article topics/focus, and consistency in Whiskey/Whisky articles

[edit]

The articles on specific whiskys, and their distilleries, are wildly inconsistent. This is especially true with the Scotch whiskys, but may also be true with other spirits and breweries. The problem is that some articles are about the distilleries, some are about the whisky itself, and others are about the product line of whiskys from the distillery. Some attempt to combine two or more of these.

Most importantly, article leads need to be explicit about what topic they are covering. Undoubtedly discussion of the product lines of a distillery/company is a part of that article (or vis versa), but the lead should be clear about which it's covering. Here are a few examples

  • Ardbeg - About a distillery. Example of a clear, concise lead and focus.
  • Dalmore Single Malt - Unclear if it's about the whisky or distillery. First and second paragraphs are at odds. Also needs formatting cleanup.
  • Dallas Dhu (distillery) - A distillery article about the distillery, but no corresponding article about the product (should be renamed to Dallas Dhu if there is no competing article of the same name.
  • Glen Ord Distillery a redirect target of Glen Ord - A distillery article.

There are many others. I would like to help clean some up, but I'd like to have some feedback on the best way to focus these articles. In most cases, is the assumption that the distillery is the article focus, with sections for product lines, etc.? This would seem to be the most common approach, and would seem too, to match with things like the infobox title, etc.

Curious to other's thoughts on a cleanup project. Shadowjams (talk) 05:12, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I would agree that we should have the distilleries as the main article focus. There should only exist a page for a specific product if that product is in someway notable enough for it's own page.-- Cabe6403 (TalkSign) 10:24, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with Category:Distilerias Serrallés

[edit]

Hello: This category's name is not correct. The correct name would be Category:Destileria Serrallés.

The problem is that there are not several, but one only; thus it should not be plural in Distilerias.

A second problem is with the spelling. Whoever (apparently someone better versed in English more than Spanish) created the category apparently meant to give it the official Spanish name of the corporation, namely Destileria; but mispelled it (there is no official English name).

To be entirely correct, the name should be Category:Destilería Serrallés, with the second "i" accented (i).

I don't know how to "move" a category (maybe I just can't as a plain editor with no other rights), so I am asking for help from someone who can move it.

Thanks, Mercy11 (talk) 00:43, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know for sure about whether it's possible to move a category. I think they can redirect, but since there probably isn't much of an edit history that's probably not important. If you create the new category, spelled correctly, I will go through the pages with that category and recategorize them to the new name.
If you do create the new category, then drop me a line here or on my talk page and I'll do the AWB work for you. Shadowjams (talk) 01:29, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think I found where it explains how to move a category: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Requested_moves It also leads here: http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion but I am not sure why.

However, I am still concerned I may mess up since I haven't done this before. Will the above link help? Can someone please help? Thank, Mercy11 (talk) 03:32, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested moves doesn't deal with categories, but Wikipedia:Categories for discussion is the right place to talk about renaming a category. I think this issue would qualify under C2 (Typographical or spelling errors). Shadowjams (talk) 03:36, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Benedictine

The article on Benedictine states that B&B stands for Benedictine and Brandy, however, the bottle I have is called B&B and it is a blend of Benedictine and Cognac. I have never edited or posted wikipedia, so I thought I would be safe and inquire about this on the talk page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by74.95.45.253 (talk) 22:30, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well Cognac is a type of brandy, so they are just being specific about what kind of brandy they are using. WDavis1911 (talk) 03:47, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

All cognac is brandy, but not all brandy is cognac. rafatia is listed as a type of brandy, this is absolutely incorrect. Rafatia is what we call creme today. So rafatia de cacao, rafatia de menthe, etc.. it looked like someone worked hard on it so I didn't delete it, but that is blantant lies, whoever wrote that obviously had no clue what rafatia means. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.87.5.68 (talk) 10:00, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Spirits articles have been selected for the Wikipedia 0.8 release

[edit]

Version 0.8 is a collection of Wikipedia articles selected by the Wikipedia 1.0 team for offline release on USB key, DVD and mobile phone. Articles wereselected based on their assessed importance and quality, then article versions (revisionIDs) were chosen for trustworthiness (freedom from vandalism) using an adaptation of the WikiTrust algorithm.

We would like to ask you to review the Spirits articles and revisionIDs we have chosen. Selected articles are marked with a diamond symbol (♦) to the right of each article, and this symbol links to the selected version of each article. If you believe we have included or excluded articles inappropriately, please contact us at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8 with the details. You may wish to look at your WikiProject'sarticles with cleanup tags and try to improve any that need work; if you do, please give us the new revisionID at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.8. We would like to complete this consultation period by midnight UTC on Monday, October 11th.

We have greatly streamlined the process since the Version 0.7 release, so we aim to have the collection ready for distribution by the end of October, 2010. As a result, we are planning to distribute the collection much more widely, while continuing to work with groups such as One Laptop per Child and Wikipedia for Schools to extend the reach of Wikipedia worldwide. Please help us, with your WikiProject's feedback!

Content forking

[edit]

There is a great deal of content forking present for fruit/pomace brandy: apart from a section within Brandy, there are Eau de vie, Palinka, Rakia, Schnapps to name a few. All of those describe a distilled alcoholic drink, made from various types of fruit - i.e. the same thing, except claiming to be exclusive to one region or another, which they're not. Apart from this, the Brandy article includes a section on the fruit/pomace brandy that has nothing to do with brandy proper, i.e. wine brandy and has no business being in the same article except perhaps in a "See also" section. I suggest merging the various fruit/pomace brandy articles in a single article and removing content on those from the brandy article. Any thoughts?--Tomobe03 (talk) 23:46, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration with the Wine Project on Cognac (brandy) and other spirit articles?

[edit]

Hello! For 2011, the Wine Project is doing a Wine Article Improvement Drive with each month focused on a particular theme. For February, we will be tackling French wines which includes coverage on Cognac, its sub-zones (Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Borderies, Fins Bois, Bon Bois andBois Ordinaire), Armagnac (drink) and its sub-zones (Bas-Armagnac, Armagnac-Ténarèze, Haut-Armagnac and Blanche d'Armagnac), the grapes, production method, producers, etc. I was wondering if any members of the Spirits project would like to take part in the article improvement drive and enhance our coverage on Cognac and other French wine spirit articles? Absinthiana needs some love

The article's a bit of a mess, frankly, and needs some attention--especially sourcing. Thought I'd bring it to the attention of whoever's watching here, as it's not really within my areas of expertise or interest. I was wondering if someone in the project could take a look at the Bacardi Superior article and see where it rates on the importance scale. I generally wouldn't go as far as asking on the project page but since Bacardi is a major brand of one of the major alcoholic bases, I figured that it might be worth bringing up. Thanks. Cat-fivetc ---- 20:51, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cat-five, while Bacardi is important (and now shown as such) one of their products isn't, in itself, important. Cabe6403(TalkSign) 13:56, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough, but currently it has no rating at all (it's ???). Even unimportant articles generally get rated and I didn't/don't know enough about the Wikiproject Spirits rating system to do it myself. Cat-fivetc ---- 01:39, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The rating system is fairly informal to be honest, I've gone ahead and rated it as low importance Cabe6403(TalkSign) 07:35, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll remember that if it comes up in the future, some Wikiprojects can be, not to put too fine a point on it, defensive when it comes to their ratings which is why I asked. Thanks for rating it though. Cat-fivetc ---- 02:49, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rollcall

[edit]

Hi WikiProject, I'm wondering how many people are still active. I'm planning to start some activity again, and am wondering how much is still happening around me, as there is quite a bit to do. Cheers, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:15, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Martijn Hoekstra, I'm around and active on Wikipedia just not particularly in this project space currently. I'm willing to assist when I can if you have a plan in mind? I would suggest we tackle the unassessed articles and get everything rated first then we can set a SMART goal to work towards. Cabe6403(TalkSign) 23:16, 13 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It depends on the activity of the project. There is a big backlog of assessing, and I also think quite a backlog of articles that are in our scope, but aren't in the category yet. After that, we can start thinking of fun stuff. Assessment backlog drives, collaboration of the month articles, drafting lists of redlinks with priorities, maybe create some new lists or improve old ones. Might be worth {{ping}}ing editors who have listed themselves as partcipants as well as recent commenters here as I'm sure not many check this talk page on a regular basis. Cabe6403(TalkSign) 07:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am still alive, just been working on the WP:Food main page. I still available for grunt work... --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 01:22, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Glad to see people still wanting to put work in the project! I'd first like us to know where we stand, and make a dent in assessment (speaking of grunt work...). I want to draft an assessment drive this week still. Are there maybe people who would prefer to learn a little more about assessment first or shall we dive headlong into drafting a drive? Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 10:34, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I would suggest diving in. Assessment isn't too complex and can easily be learned by doing Cabe6403(TalkSign) 12:13, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Great. I set up a draft over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Spirits/Assessment Drives/September 2013. I never set up a drive, so if I'm doing things wrong or things could be done better, please be bold, and just go ahead and change things if you think that's better, discussion is optional. Leaflet for Wikiproject Spirits at Wikimania 2014

[edit]

Hi all,

My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.

One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.

This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:

• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film

• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.

• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.

• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____

• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost

The deadline for submissions is 1st July 2014

For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

[edit]

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:48, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

need table at bottom of every bourbon article

[edit]

It would be nice if there were a navigational table at the bottom of every single bourbon article listing every type of bourbon

example: you go here http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/McAfee's_Benchmark and then at the bottom there were would be a navigational table where you can select every other type of bourbon in kentucky.

There is something similar to the bourban trail navigational table, but that is only limited to certain members of an association.

Thanks for considering this! 66.210.101.146 (talk) 15:04, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject X is live!

[edit]

Hello everyone!

You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!

Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Ketel One Vodka - help required

[edit]

Hi, I wondered if anyone could help.

I'm a communications professional working with Ketel One Vodka and I'd like to suggest some changes to our Wikipedia page to add more insight and information.

The following changes I wish to be made are:

To be removed:
• Also known as Ketel 1

Timeline

To be amended:
1793 needs amending to: • 1794: Under the control of Jacobus Nolet (5th generation), family members build the Nolet Distillery windmill, known as 'The Whale.'
1867 needs amending to: • 1867: The Nolet family acquires an interest in shipping and begins exporting spirits.
1979 needs amending to: • 1979: Carolus Nolet Sr. (10th generation) assumes control of the Nolet Distillery.
1983 needs amending to: • 1983: Carolus Nolet Sr. develops the Ketel One recipe and launches it in the USA.
1991 needs amending to: • 1991: Nolet Spirits USA is founded, whilst Carl Nolet Jr. (11th generation) moves to the United States to dedicate himself to the growth of the company.
2000 needs amending to: • 2000: The Nolet Distillery produces a super-premium, flavoured vodka, Ketel One Citroen, which is launched in the USA.
2002 needs amending to: • 2002: Ketel One Vodka reaches the 1,000,000 case mark.
2003 needs amending to: • 2003: The first national Ketel One print advertising campaign, “Dear Ketel One Drinker”, launches in the USA.

To be added:
2009: The first television campaign for Ketel One Vodka launched in the USA.
2010: A new orange-flavoured vodka, Ketel One Oranje, is launched in the USA.

To be removed:
2011: Ketel One Worldwide has grown the brand to 2,000,000 cases. Ketel One is now sold in over 50 countries

Would anyone be able to help with this? It really would be appreciated.

Thanks!

AdamF Grayling (talk) 15:03, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the "Ketel 1" statement since it's unsourced anyway, but the entire Timeline needs to go because it's plagiarized from the company website and is a copyright violation. We cannot accept copyrighted text as part of Wikipedia articles. The text is promotional in nature anyway—Wikipedia is not for marketing and promotional purposes. I do appreciate you declaring your position, and encourage you to review Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and WP:PAY in particular. --Laser brain (talk) 15:16, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
(ec)Hi Adam. Thanks for reaching out suggesting improvements as well as declaring your conflict of interest. The current article we have is an unholy mess, I completely agree with your there. I don't mind working on it to attempt to bring it to a more reasonable state. Currently, the articles greatest problems are firstly that it's entirely unreferenced; it's in dire need of reliable sources, independent of the company/brand that give significant coverage about the subject, and speaking of the subject, the article seems to conflate Nolet (the org), Ketel One/Ketel 1 (the brand name) and Ketel One vodka (the product) to the point where it is unclear what the article is actually about. Re-focussing the article is probably a good idea, with Nolet as the likeliest target, since it's the central subject. If the need arises we can always spin out articles. Until then, redirecting the other titles is probably a good idea. The best thing you can do to help, is finding sources. Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources is a good guide to get a feel of what we're looking for. Kind regards, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 15:18, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
As for the quick basics, is it correct that Ketel One is a brand name owned by Ketel One U.S.A., which is 50/50 jointly owned by the Nolet group (through Nolet International B.V.) and Diageo? Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 16:29, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have created article on Pernod Ricard's brand 100 Pipers. Kindly review the article and improve the article with proper sources. Can anyone find any source about cases sold in India, Australia, South America? Also properly licensed image of 100 Pipers is needed, I'm relatively new at Wikipedia, I'm having some problem in licensing. Kindly help. Thank you. --Human3015 20:00, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm doing some work on improving this article after it got stripped down for promotional tone (my COI disclosure can be found on the talk page). I'm not trying to restore the promotional content by any means, and I'd appreciate any feedback from WP Spirits in helping maintain a neutral tone, as well as create something that falls in line with a standard WP Spirits article style, if such a thing exists. Any input is always greatly appreciated.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 19:54, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
