I would have mentioned that, due to the war, Lenin had no easy way to return to Russia from exile in Switzerland. So he negotiated a passage through Germany, giving the Germans a promise that he would do all he could to end the war. He was given permission to travel through Germany by train, and then returned to Russia via Sweden. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:28, 4 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
