If I'm not mistaken, the idea of having it run to 1600 (other than producing a nice round number) was to cover the entirety of the Ottoman conquest of North Africa. But the later aspects of that are admittedly pretty obscure topics; so, if the participants of this task force want to shrink the scope a bit, I have no objections. Kirill12:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

That was my also suggestion, but a nice round date was preferred. However, when founding this task force, the involved Muslims opted for an extension to the present day because Islam's stance on war made Muslims special. Wandalstouring (talk) 15:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
