Sections

Ok, some of the section names aren't specific enough, particularly the 'War' section. It talks about ships and conquering. Should the section be split up? Emperor Jackal 17:44, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

It has been a year since Astro Empires was deleted and moved here in preparation for an eventual return. It is time that the article is moved back. The game now boasts over 34,000 players, 4 servers and has been published more than once. This week in the observatoriodo algarve Website, the largest regional News site in Algarve, Portugal the home of the game. link

Next week the game creator will be published in one of the largest newspapers in Portugal about the game. Butch-cassidy (talk) 00:16, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Astro Empires for some background to this request.

Following the decision to delete, the deleted page was recreated several times, speedy-deleted each time and finally, after no fewer than six deletions (most recently 8 October 2007) it was protected. That's why admin assistance is now needed for this move.

So there's a great deal of history. Should this even be considered a move request? Or should it go to Wikipedia:Deletion review, or somewhere else?

It's also interesting to note that Wikipedia:WikiProject Massively multiplayer online games/Article Archive contains links to only two archived articles, and the other archive has itself been deleted.

And I even had a look to see whether Portuguese Wikipedia had an article on this particular MMOG. It doesn't seem to. Portuguese is one of the larger Wikipedias by article count, larger than Spanish or even Italian, I guess owing to the former colonies and particularly to Brazil. I agree, given the history surrounding this article, deletion review might be a better venue to discuss recreating it. For what it's worth, I oppose moving the article to main space at this time, because the article as currently written doesn't make a case for notability per WP:N and WP:WEB: there are no references to establish that the game has "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." If the game has received significant coverage in multiple reliable independent sources, this info should be added to the article with citations. --Muchness (talk) 09:11, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: With regards to the proposed page move, I feel that no consensus to move will be reached here, nor will simply moving the page aid restoration, so I have removed the entry at WP:RM and the move template. This should not discourage you from following suggestions by Andrewa & Muchness and following the deletion review procedure. The comments at the AfD suggest that there may be some support if notability is established. However as Muchness states, in the article's present state, without references, it is unlikely to fulfill notablity requirements. I suggest that you add the Observatório do Algarve article, the interview with the game creator (I believe that the details of the printed version would suffice if a web page cannot be found) and any other reliable references to the references section prior to further action. --Lox (t,c) 09:50, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Review for Astro Empires

[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Astro Empires. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Butch-cassidy (talk) 21:34, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Woah...black hole in wikipedia - why is there not an article about Astro Empires??? This is a really big internet game there should at least be some kind of description and history - I mean, you have a World of Warcraft article, right? 71.227.196.132 (talk) 21:00, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
